Two prestigious awards for Kievits Kroon

Kievits Kroon, which is managed by Faircity Hotels, has recently received two prestigious awards: Best Luxury Country Hotel from the 2017 World Luxury Hotel Awards; and the Outstanding Service Award from GoHotels.com.

The World Luxury Hotel award is a result of votes received from guests and industry consultants and was announced at a spectacular gala celebration hosted at the Kulm Hotel St Moritz on 2 December.

Over 300,000 international travelers vote each year during a four week period to select the winners. Luxury hotels have the opportunity to participate in the World Luxury Hotel Awards by entering into categories that showcase their unique selling points and destinations.

Awards were bestowed on luxury properties who excelled within their service delivery areas on a country, regional, continent or global basis, be it the most luxurious island or forest resort, the best wedding destination or the ultimate ski hotel,” said Joanna Evans, Marketing Communications Manager for the World Luxury Hotel Awards.

“Each hotel is looked at in detail concerning votes received during the annual voting phase, overall guest satisfaction from online reviews, facilities at the hotel, design, location, and branding, to name a few.”

Kievits Kroon is the only Pretoria hotel to have won an award in the Southern Africa regional category.

The Outstanding Service Award from GoHotels.com is given to a select band of hotels in recognition of their excellent record of positive guest reviews and signifies that Kievits Kroon achieved a minimum review score of 90% on guest feedback, including cleanliness, guest experience, facilities, food and beverage and customer service.

Kievits Koon General Manager Francois Stremmelaar said that this award is very gratifying because it is based solely on genuine guest reviews.

“GoHotels.com calculates the review score from review ratings given by guests who have actually stayed with us and gone on to publish a review on the GoHotels.com website,” explained Stremmelaar. “It signifies that the quality of service and hospitality at Kievits Kroon has been identified as outstanding based on consistently high customer review ratings.

“It’s a great honour to be recognised with two such prestigious awards,” said Stremmelaar, “particularly as this is our sixth consecutive award from World Luxury Hotel Awards. It tells us that we are doing something right and encourages us to keep raising the bar.”

Tips to revive summer skin and hair!

Holidays and sunshine… this usually means a little too much sun, and possibly even a little too much alcohol. Both have the same dehydrating effect on the skin which can lead to wrinkles and premature ageing and dry, damaged hair.

We asked our Winelands Spa Manager, Michelle Moffat, what products she would recommend for reviving skin and hair after the holidays, in preparation for the new year.

SILKY SOFT HAND THERAPY

Silky soft hand therapyThis is a rejuvenating and replenishing non oily formula packaged conveniently in a pump action bottle which fits perfectly into a handbag. It’s rich in Omega 3, 6, 9 and Aqualance, a hydrating ingredient containing an osmotic module composed of homarine and erythritol, instantly improving moisture levels in the skin by 37% on application.

DRY BODY SPRITZ

Dry Body Oil Spritz (MR)An aromatic dry oil loaded with a blend of sweet almond and Jojoba oils, along with its exotic fragrance of mandarin and sandalwood, which will nourish and moisturise your skin, leaving it glowing. The spritz is light and luxurious, not greasy, and absorbs immediately leaving the skin silky and soft.  It’s also excellent as a hair spritzer to protect the hair from the harsh effects of sea and pool water and the sun.

MUSCLE RELIEF GEL

Muscle Relief Gel MRAlthough this gel is essential to help relieve muscle pain, it also has a nice cooling effect on sunburnt skin.

SHEA BUTTER

Grapefruit & Thyme Butter 125mlGrapefruit and Thyme Butter is a special cocktail of delicious oils, including shea butter, avocado oil, wheat germ oil and Vitamin E, to nourish and protect the skin whilst improving elasticity.
